Strata separated by faults were weathered and protruded to form chalky rocks in queer shapes. The rocks and the greenery of pine trees give us beautiful scenes as good as "Matsushima on the shore". This is designated as scenic natural monument by the prefectural government. It takes about an hour to ramble around here.

Goreibitsu Pass

Goreibitsu Pass lies on the boundary between Ouse Town and Konan Town. Its height is 876 m, and there is a spectacular view of Lake Inawashiro from the summit. The entire mountainside is a scenic beauty of Asiatic azaleas, which are ablaze with color.

Miharu Dam and its surrounding area

"Sakura Lake", an artificial lake produced by the completion of Miharu Dam, shows us various appearances being surrounded by mountains of Miharu in the springtime. Many beautiful bridges arch this lake and create a scenic beauty.

The Choshigataki Falls

The falls resemble the shape of Choshi, sake decanter, and it is 48m in height. They were selected as one of the 30 natural scenic spots in Fukushima Prefecture. Hikers flock to the white falls for maple viewing and a cool breeze.

Mt.Yomogiyama Walkway

This walkway was built in Mt. Yomogi, a back mountain of the Gohyaku River running through Bandai Atami spa town. This 800 long walkway is blessed with beautiful nature and fresh wind, and you will enjoy rambling around the course after taking a bath. Lilacs and Magnolia kobus broom at the sides of this walkway, and sweet fragrance flows around. This is also known as าWalkway of fragranceำ.

The Abukuma River Village of Swans (winter)

The Abukuma River is running through Aza-Dobanji, Koizumi, Fukuyama Town. Around November, many swans come flying here and tell the coming of winter. Many visitors come here to see the delicate figures from inside and outside Fukushima Prefecture.

Banyushinden Skunk Cabbage Habitat

At the foot of Mt. Nunobiki, there is a marsh, Banyushinden Skunk Cabbage Habitat, which is a natural monument. The white flowers are at their best from the end of April to the beginning of May and thought of as messengers of spring with a white beauty.
Nearby are Suge Falls, which have been selected as one of ten well-known places to communicate with water, and Okitsushima Temple.

The Suge Falls

Suge Waterfalls have been selected as one of ten well-known places to communicate with water. The falls are upper the Suge River, which is flowing into Lake Inawashiro, and 7 meters in height. Many people visit here to see Okitsushima Shrine Shasou and enjoy green leaves of spring, coolness during summer and view the tints and hue of autumn colors.

Oninuma Pond

In old days, The Great Teacher of Kobo wished to bridge over the entrance of a bay overnight, but he stopped the construction when he heard crowing of a rooster at the dawn. A preserve person imitated the crow to prevent the construction. Bridging was not completed, but it was known as "Kobo Bridge"

Byobu Rocks

Byobuiwa Rock in Nakanosawa is a curious rock that has been worshipped as a rock inhabited by God. It stands upright at the beach like a giant folding screen, having a blue shapely pine tree in it with a fine sight. You will see a splendid view of Mt. Bandai and Azuma range here. This is the best point for devotees of camera.

Swans in Kamakura Pond (winter)

A leading group of swans come to Kamakura Pond in Otsuki Town, Koriyama City around the middle of October. More than 300 swans fly to this pond at the peak.

Mt.Hitaitori (Mt.Asaka)

This mountain was composed in Manyoshu, A Collection of Myriad Leaves as follows:
"I long for you far deeper than a shallow fold of hills shadowed with Mt.Asaka." It is known as a Uneme story-related mountain in Koriyama. You will have a magnificent view here, and many hikers and trekkers visit this mountain. It takes about 2 hours from the "Taki" starting point for a climb, and 1.5 hours from Goreibitsu Pass.

Mt. Ippai

This mountain is selected as one of the best mountains in Abukuma mountain ranges. It is on the border of Ono Town of Tamura County, and provides you with fine views of Mt. Otakine, Mt. Takashiba and Mt. Hikage from "Sounding rock", a ridge of view place near the top.

Minamigawa Ravine

Minamigawa is an irrigation channel that was constructed as the 5th branch channel of Asaka Water Way, which significantly supported the development in history of Koriyama. We have improved this space in an urban area where nature and history remain into a path for a quiet walk in a length of 1,600m. This path has a suspension bridge, and historical data are being displayed in the arbor. This mall was selected as one of the 50 selected malls in Fukushima.
