This park was completed as an urban park at the beginning of Meiji Era with a focus on Lake Isuzu, which was prepared as a pond for irrigation. The cherry trees planted along the bank are one of the prominent beauty spots in Fukushima Prefecture, showing 1,300 trees in all. In 1992, as the cradle of Asaka pioneering, a monument "Tribute to Frontiersmen" was erected. It is a symbolic park for Koriyama citizens and very popular among the residents.
